I WANTED to thank all those who have been so generous in supporting our ‘Buy One More’ Big Christmas Social Action project this year.
This Christmas, we have been collecting Children’s toys for the Salvation Army.
There are just a couple of weeks to go until Christmas and every child’s gift which has been received will make all the difference to those children who are less fortunate on Christmas Day.
Everyone is feeling the pinch and money is tight, so I would like say a huge thank-you to all those who have managed to ‘buy one more’ toy for our campaign.
Each and every small gesture will mean the world to a child who has little to look forward to this Christmas. We have collected nearly 200 toys so far to hand over to the Salvation Army.
You can still drop off any toys in the next few days in Alnwick at the Conservative Office on the corner of Bondgate Without and Greenwell Lane, in Newcastle at the Conservative Campaign Centre at Aston House, Redburn Road, Westerhope or in Berwick at 7 Tweed Street, with MrsWakenshaw.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our campaign and happy Christmas.
l WE were so pleased that you kindly selected our concert in Rothbury on November 26 as your recent Event of the Week and we just wanted to let you and your readers know that we are sure the extra publicity encouraged people to come along and support us.
The combined choirs concert was pretty nearly a sell-out and raised the magnificent total of £1,000 towards the current 20,000 Voices Appeal Fund.
May we also take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the concert?
It was an extremely wild and windy night in Rothbury but we had a great time with our choral colleagues from Voicemale and The Wannie Liners, ably supported by Alex Swailes (compere) and instrumental solos from gifted young piper Tristan Selden.
If anyone would like to know more about the wonderful work done by 20,000 Voices, please visit their website (www.20000voices.org) and do think about making a donation (very easy through their The Big Give link) to help keep Northumberland and the North East singing.
Louise Kirkwood, David Lister and Brian Staff,
On behalf of Rothbury’s Coquet Singers
