Learn how to stay healthy

Health Matters – a community health event.

Of course health matters, it matter sto all of us, or it should.

We need to take responsibility for our own general health, well-being and safety.

The Patients Participation Group at Belford Medical Practice has organised two health and well-being fairs aimed at all the local community, to raise individual and community awareness of a range of health issues and to offer self-health opportunities to improve personal health.

Contributors to the fairs will include St John Ambulance, with first aid demonstrations and advice; the North East Ambulance Service showing CPR and defibrillators; weight management advice with Weight Watchers; healthy eating and diet, with local fruit and veg and fish businesses.

There will be exercise and gym promotion; advice and information on diabetes, cholesterol; stroke awareness and blood pressure will be available.

To ensure this is a top-to-toe event, complementary therapies of massage, hands and feet, nail care and podiatry will offer ‘tasters’ and advice, and much more.

We cordially invite your readers and all the community to visit our Health Matters Ffirs and be inspired to improve your health.

The events will be held at Seahouses Methodist Church Hall, on Wednesday, November 13; and Belford Bell View, on Wednesday, November 20. We hope to see you there.
