I have not seen any other coverage and there has been no comment from the RSPB.
It is illegal to kill this protected species but surely it is worse to put breeding pairs into captivity.
They will suffer terrible distress and probably die anyway.
This practice should not be allowed to become the norm, either as an annual occurrence or spread to other areas.
When this idea was first mooted, such was the protest in the shires that it was dropped, so how come this action has gone ahead in two areas that have a low human occupation?
