Help support our servicemen and women in 2012

SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) Forces Help, the National Charity that cares and supports our Heroes and Heroines and their families of our Yesterday, of our Today and there for those of our Tomorrow are happy to support The British Forces Resettlement Services as they hold their Military Jobs Fair.

Their event is open to all service personnel and their families and will be held at Catterick Leisure Centre on March 29. Anyone interested in attending should pre-register as soon as possible by contacting Kirsty Forrest, Project Support Officer, telephone 0845 308 2406. Email : kirsty@bfrss.org.uk she will forward joining instructions nearer the date. There is also a website for interest – www.bfrss.co.uk – which details all the latest information and includes a list of confirmed exhibitors.

Ex-servicemen and women that are looking for employment are welcome to make contact with BFRSS, they can help.

To mark and commemorate the Diamond Jubilee Year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Major Brian William Finlayson, the Public Awareness and Fund Raising Officer for Northumberland Branch of SSAFA Forces Help will be planting trees in the grounds of Sandringham Palace on Friday, February 3, 2012 on behalf of Her Grace, The Duchess of Northumberland, president of Northumberland, her chairman, branch officers and caseworks.

This event is linked to The Woodland Trust project of planting six million trees throughout the country this year.

Members of Norfolk Branch of SSAFA Forces Help will be in attendance too, a plaque will be sited to mark the occasion. Her Majesty, together with The Princess Royal will plant a tree and then meet invited guests.

The charity is always on the lookout for new voluntary caseworkers for its Northumberland branch, should anyone wish to give of their time to help our serving and ex-servicemen and women and the families of both, then please do not hesitate to make contact with any of the following secretaries – or if you need assistance or you know of someone who need assistance again please do not hesitate in getting in contact.
