Green scheme is bananas

I have to take issue with the letters praising the planters in front of the Northumberland Hall.

I walked past them on Sunday last and they looked like a badly neglected allotment. Hardly an advert to encourage ‘young people’ to grow their own vegetables.

Do we really have to indulge the more ludicrous ideas of the so-called Friends of the Earth by spoiling the appearance of Alnwick town centre?

This is in complete contrast to the delightful displays in the market place which are very pleasing to the eye.

Please, please, let us return to more traditional floral decorations and let those who wish to plant such unsightly rubbish do so in thir own front gardens.
