May I through your column, respond to the food review for Mulan, Morpeth, by Ben O’Connell, Thursday, May 23.
I hope nobody takes the slightest bit of notice of the ridiculous things he said about the food, obviously not a Chinese food connoisseur.
‘I don’t think I will be rushing back anytime soon as I found the food to be not quite good enough to persuade me to travel’ and ‘A little pricey for the overall quality of the food’ – I hope after his review that they bar him for life.
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion and Mr O’Connell has, over the last few years, certainly given his opinion on lots of things, but I do think what he has said is quite detrimental for the restaurant.
Of course, anyone out there who goes to Mulan on a regular basis will know that the food they deliver is first class.
I have taken staff there for Christmas meals and have gone on numerous occasions, at different times of the year and found it to be of the highest quality and taste every time.
A question, would Mr O’Connell give a review like this about a ‘local’ restaurant and why has the review not gone into the sister newspaper, the, Morpeth Herald?
Like I said, everyone is entitled to their views and although he has said some nice things about Mulan, people will always pick up on the not so nice things, as I did, and hopefully will have the same thoughts as me on the matter – go get yourself some fish and chips, leave the real food to those who appreciate it.
