FESTIVAL: New volunteers are needed

The Alnwick International Music Festival committee would like to take this opportunity to thank wholeheartedly all those who supported our 40th festival, whether that was through volunteering, performing, taking part in the workshops, or being part of the very enthusiastic audience.

Unfortunately, donations in the yellow buckets were slightly down on last year, but still raised £2,927 to support the production of a vibrant and colourful festival, with strong colourful international groups and talented locals.

Now that festival is gone, but not forgotten, and the committee is well into the planning for next year – Festival 41.

One threat exists, however, and that is the lack of volunteers who can donate their time and expertise and/or enthusiasm during the year. To continue we need greater community involvement.

Could you represent your group on our committee, or join us as an individual?

We desperately need new volunteers on the committee. Could you spare an hour or so a month throughout the year? The roles are varied and can be done collaboratively or as an independent task.

To find out more come along to our open meeting at The Mechanics Institute, Percy Street, Alnwick, on Wednesday, September 30, at 7.30pm. Everyone welcome.
