EVENT: Out in force for rural ‘lifeline’

An enormous thank-you to everyone involved in last weekend’s Pop-Up Book Shop.

It was a fantastic few days that came about from an idea by Nancy, one of our staunch supporters and regular passengers.

In a time of public funding cutbacks up and down the country, it’s heartwarming to see a community constantly come out in force to support rural lifeline buses.

A special thanks to Richard Edes for the use of Millers shop, Norma Campbell for her librarian skills and helping to man the shop, Too Far North for the wonderful advertising poster board, Babs Morton, Jean Gill, Alfie Robbins, Karen Charlton and David Taylor for donating signed copies of their books, Judith Hunter for donating picture cards, Susan Headley for donating handmade bookmarks and notebooks, Mary Scott for taking her usual brilliant photos, and all those who donated books, CDs and DVDs.

Last, but not least, thanks to American Tom O’Donnell and Dave and Cal Garrick for giving up their weekend to perform their songs to all those who came along to support us.
