Many congratulations to the Alnmouth Arts Festival on being awarded Highly Commended in the Community Events Category of the What’s on Where awards.

A just reward to all the organisers, the artists who contribute so much to this marvellous annual event.

However, on a personal level I have just one reservation.

For a number of years I travelled from Buckinghamshire to Alnmouth during the festival and enjoyed participating and displaying my art work.

This year I was made aware that one had to be living in the immediate area to participate.

While I fully understand that space is at a premium, I feel disappointed that the festival is not an open event to all-comers.
