A GROUP of people meet in Alnwick each Friday. What we have in common is an interest in Germany, its language and its people.
The standard of our spoken German varies considerably from totally fluent to ‘just beginning’.
Three of our regulars were born in Germany, one in France, and the rest in various parts of the UK.
We meet ‘um unsere Sprachkentnisse zu erweitern und um freundliche Gesellschaft zu geniessen’.
Is there anyone who would care to join us? Come for a taster, if you like, and see if it might suit you. Our meetings are not ‘classes’ and nobody’s ability will be tested or criticised in any way.
We meet for two hours in the Costello Rooms on Bailiffgate, starting at 10am and breaking off for coffee at half-time. We have a few weeks off at Christmas, Easter and in the summer.
Our autumn session starts on September 2, you will be made very welcome and you can decide whether it’s the right thing for you. Someone will be at the entrance on September 2, to look out for newcomers.
It was through a letter in the Gazette that I joined the group. I have had 12 happy years as a member.
Please phone me on 01669 621472 if you want to ask anything.
