I am 76, but unlike your other correspondent ‘A Pedestrian’ have only lived here for two months. Parking on pavements is the main cause of broken paving stones referred to.
I understand from experience elsewhere that most police forces only take action on receipt of complaints of on-pavement parking and perhaps the local constabulary will treat this correspondence as a complaint and take action.
The parking of vehicles, half on double yellow lines and half on adjacent footpaths is prevalent especially opposite your offices and also, very dangerously on Narrowgate.
A presence of police officers in the town on foot would be much appreciated.
