The St. James' Park sign at Alnwick Town Football Club.

May I apologise to the elderly couple who were in attendance at the Bilclough Cup final on May 9, at St James’ Park, Alnwick, and were subject to foul language from an alleged supporter of one of the clubs – when spoken to, he threw alcohol over the lady.

We at the league will not tolerate this behaviour and will take all options open to the league to ensure it never happens again.

Once again, please accept our humble apologies.

David Trench,

League secretary
