Youngsters in Alnwick have helped to raise money for vital cancer research.

Children from St Michael’s CofE First School and Mini Michael’s – a group at the town’s St Michael’s Church for under fives and their grown-ups – took part in a sponsored walk-toddle-push.

The event, held in conjunction with Alnwick’s Cancer Research shop on Narrowgate, took place last Thursday and those taking part did 10 laps of the school’s playground.

The fund-raiser was in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, which is a ground-breaking initiative created to accelerate innovative cancer research that will get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives.

More than £500 has already been collected, but more money is to come in for the cause.
