A drama workshop took place in the new studio at the Duchess’s Community High School in Alnwick last week.

The workshop was arranged with Alnwick Playhouse and REACH, a theatre company which is putting on a play, Fish Eye, at the venue in November.

Maria Crocker led the session, which was designed to help A-Level drama and theatre studies students to devise original pieces which can then form part of their final assessment later this year or next year for those in Year 12.

There were 16 students involved in total, many of whom are also involved in the forthcoming school play, 1984, which appears at the beginning of November.

All the students are also planning to attend the performance of Fish Eye, which will also help to contribute to their final exams when they are asked to comment on a live production they have seen and its success in a number of key technical and performance areas.
