Rotting apples, a rusting car, a crumbling cartwheel and decrepit dovecote were just some of the entries submitted by members of Wooler and District Camera Club competing for the Tom Dickinson Trophy.

The judge, John Wilson, awarded three commended and three highly commended certificates. These went to Meg Vickers, Pat Young and Mike Allport. Highly commended were Peter Ayres, Pat Young and Cyril Guthrie.

Third and second places were taken by Charlie Brown with Ship’s Skeleton and Link to the Past.

First was the wittily titled Hosta la Vista by Russell Young.

After the break, members engaged with the ups and downs of life in Stairways, the subject of the Presidents’ Cup Competition. John awarded commended certificates to Russell Young, Patrick Sheard and Mike Allport. Highly commended went to Russell Young and Peter Ayres.

Stairs at Wells Cathedral gained third place for Diane Baynton, Patrick Sheard’s Take Your Seats came second and first was an engaging picture by Peter Ayres titled Downward Spiral.
