RESULTS AT LAST: Finally a break in the winter weather allowed Wooler Camera Club to see the results of the two competitions which had been delayed since November 25.

Although the climate outside was extremely cold the audience warmed to the excellent constructive remarks given by the judge, Raymond Beston.

Raymond praised all the entries for both competitions, The Tom Dickenson Trophy and The President’s Trophy and then went into descriptive mode on the subtle changes he would have made if he had taken or worked on the photographs. This was much appreciated by the members who were there.

The Tm Dickenson Trophy (this year’s subject Farming): 1 Waiting for Hay by John Wilson, 2 Ploughman’s Rest by Peter Ayres, 3 Wind Farm by Mike Allport. Highly commended Ploughing by Mike Young, Harvesting and Stacking Bales by Pat Young.

The President’s Trophy (this year’s subject Berry(s)/Fruit(s) of the Countryside’) 1 Crab Apple by Peter Ayres, 2 Berries by Ian Thompson, 3 Toadstools by Mike Young. Highly Commended: Apples by Peter Ayres, Blackberries by Bob Maddox, Elderberries Against the Sky by Pat Young, Christmas Holly by Margaret Urwin.
