Woody steals the show

Jam Jar Army beneficiary SHAK offered a massive thank-you to the wonderful staff of Lend Lease who completed their third Community Day with the charity last week.

It is three years ago now that the company from Manchester chose SHAK as their preferred charity when choosing which organisation to help for a day.

Stephen Wylie said: “Amazingly, it was great to see some familiar faces that had travelled up to us for the third year running.

“As well as the painting and tidying the team do all day, they also kindly donated a new kennel which was built by Chris, but even more appreciated by Moss and Koby – its new occupants.

“Part of the deal was that Kate brought Woody up for a visit – you may remember him from the Gazette a few months ago.

“Woody was ‘forever fostered’ by Kate when she came up last year and he has never looked back. And of course, he stole the show.

“Thanks so much again to such wonderful people.”

Also doing great work to support SHAK is you, our readers and the wider north Northumberland community, whose support for the third Jam Jar Army campaign has already brought in close to £8,000 since we started collecting this year.

But the Army marches on for now and we want to ensure that all homes, businesses and workplaces have collections so we can boost the coffers even further.
