Electricity has been restored to all 2,000 properties in Alnwick affected by last night’s power cut.
Power went off at around 3.45pm and returned for most homes and businesses by 7pm. But, despite a message from Northern Power Grid (NPG), which run the North East’s electricity distribution network, giving the all-clear, several houses, including some in Oaky Balks, remained in darkness into the night.
But at 1.14am, NPG issued a statement saying the power had been restored in the NE66 area.
“Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience caused,” it said.
To report a power cut or speak to a representative from NPG, call 0800 668877 or 0330 1230877.
Internet-enabled mobile users can obtain power-cut updates by visiting m.northernpowergid.com or calling 03301230877.
