WATCH: Sizzling show’s a winner for two legs and four

Hundreds of visitors enjoyed glorious sunshine and a wealth of activities at Ingram Show last weekend.

With the weather helping the day along, the annual event, next to the village hall, saw everything from industrial and horticultural exhibits to a creepy crawly roadshow and adult and children’s sports.

Farmers from across the region turned up to show their sheep with entries in every category at Saturday’s popular event.

John Cavana, from Patanavac Gun Dogs, kicked off the entertainment in the main ring with a display from his five dogs.

He showed how even the young puppies can be trained, with his young Clumber spaniel, as well as how older dogs are disciplined.

The dog show was another popular attraction, with classes for everything from puppies and young handlers to best terrier.

Still on the canine theme, another star attraction was the terrier race.

The heats and final attracted many of the visitors as they watched the family pets chase after a faux hare to be crowned the winner.

In the craft tent there was a range of home-made produce and gifts and the kiddies corner included a bouncy castle, inflatable slide and merry go-round to keep youngsters entertained.

The event has again been hailed a huge success.

Joyce Clayton, show secretary, said it had been a great day.

“The weather was so good that even the ice-cream van ran out,” she said.

One entry in the industrial section came from North London.

Alistair Smith and his partner holiday in the area every year.

“We came to Ingram Show last year and thought it was fantastic,” he said.

“So I decided to make some items and bring them up with me. The show is so well-run.”

Alistair was delighted to have won second prize for his lemon curd.

The festivities continued on Sunday with the annual tatty dig.
