WATCH: First school’s remembrance service

Pupils at a north Northumberland first school held a special remembrance service yesterday.

At 11am, St Michael’s First School in Alnwick welcomed families and friends as well as the town’s Mayor to a special service.

In homage to the poppy installation at the Tower of London, the children planted 60 poppies in the school grounds. The service also included prayers and songs from the First World War era, including It’s a long way to Tipperary.
