Hundreds of people turned out in Amble today to show their support for the town’s annual RNLI Harbour Day.
The event was opened by local fund-raisers Evan and Lesley Falkous. Adding a musical note to the event was the Cassino Band of Northumbria Army Cadet Force who were very popular with the crowd.
During the event, organisers of the Druridge Bay 10k presented a magnificent £6,000 which will go towards the Shannon Appeal for a new boat.
A Sea King helicopter from RAF Boulmer took part in a demonstration exercise with the RNLI crew for the last time before search and rescue operation changes and the iconic yellow machines are made redundant.
