POLICE are warning Rothbury residents to be vigilant and keep their property secure, after two burglaries in the Hillside area of the village in less than a week.
Cash and figurines were taken from a house on Simonside View between noon, on Tuesday, January 3, and 1.30pm the following day.
Then, on Monday, between 11am and 4.15pm, thieves targeted an insecure building at Addycombe Farm and stole a quantity of money.
Acting Inspector Graham Vickers said: “Burglaries to homes in Rothbury are extremely rare but police are requesting Rothbury residents to be vigilant, keep their property secure and report any suspicious persons or vehicles by using the 999 emergency number.”
