A RIGHT royal extravaganza is planned to make the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee go with a bang in Shilbottle.
Eleven days of events have been planned to mark the occasion next month, starting on Friday May 25 with a special quiz in the Community Hall.
An exhibition of memories of the Coronation and Shilbottle in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, runs from the Friday until Monday June 4 .
A treasure hunt, costing £5 per team will also take place from Friday, May 25 to Sunday, June 3.
Over the Jubilee weekend rock band Caught in the Act will perform at the Farriers on Friday, June 1 from 9pm, tickets £3.
A Shilbottle’s Got Talent competition is also running with heats in the hall on Saturday, June 2 alongside crown and flag making.
Sunday, June 3 will see the results of the treasure hunt and a tea party will take place on the green at Tyelaw Meadows.
There will also be Songs of Praise in the hall from 6pm.
On Monday, June 4, there will be a parade from the Farriers at 11.30am, a buffet lunch in the community hall as well as other festivities and the final of Shilbottle’s Got Talent. A ceilidh with barbecue from 7.30pm will end the celebrations.
