VIDEO - Music Festival - Buttercross Belles

One of the first groups on the stage at this years Alnwick International Music Festival were the Buttercross Belles from Otley in West Yorkshire.They are a womens North West Morris Dancing side. They were established in 1992 and have been practicing traditional North West Morris Dancing all over the UK and Europe since then. North West morris originated in the Lancashire Mills during the Industrial Revolution and this is reflected in the figures of the dances and the use of the milling bobbins.
