VIDEO: Armed Forces Day - the parade through Alnwick

Alnwick was once again in the spotlight yesterday as it hosted a prestigious event to mark Armed Forces Day.

The day of celebration, which also coincided with the 60th anniversary of RAF Boulmer, was organised by the Royal British Legion Northumbria.

It started at noon with a parade of regulars, reservists, veterans and cadets from all three armed forces led by the Band of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

Taking the salute were the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland, Air Vice-Marshal David Hurrell and RAF Boulmer Station Commander, Group Captain Paul Atkinson.
