The Reverend Paul Scott, Vicar of St Michael’s Church, Alnwick, was officially appointed as Area Dean of Alnwick Deanery on Sunday, by Acting Bishop of Newcastle, the Right Reverend Frank White.

Paul has been the vicar of Alnwick for nearly three years, and now takes on the additional role of Area Dean, supporting laity and clergy throughout the Deanery. He said: “I look forward to working alongside my colleagues in Alnwick Deanery – both clergy and laity – in times which are both exciting and challenging.”

He succeeds the Rev Canon James Robertson, who has recently retired as Vicar of Whittingham, Edlingham and Bolton Chapel.
