Police are appealing for information after farm equipment was stolen in Northumberland.

Between 1pm and 6pm on Monday, July 14, thieves broke into a farm building and stole a red Honda quad bike from a farm in the Wooler area.

At around 8.30pm on the same day police received a report of the attempted theft of two lawnmowers from an outbuilding at Whittingham, near Alnwick.

Two vehicles, a black Nissan Navara pick-up truck and a white flat bed lorry, were seen in the vicinity of both incidents around the time of the thefts.

UPDATE: Tuesday, 9am – The transit van, which was stolen from a neighbouring force area earlier in the month, was recovered by police along with the quad bike stolen in Wooler.

The Navara is still outstanding.

Suspicious vehicles seen in Harbottle on Sunday night have also been traced and two men from the Ashington area have been arrested, the property stolen recovered, and their vehicles have been seized.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw both vehicles in the area at the time or has any information about suspicious vehicles in the area to contact police on 101 ext 69191 quoting reference 1042 140714.
