Towns and villages to pay their respects to war heroes

Communities will be coming together tomorrow to mark Remembrance Sunday and remember those who have lost their lives fighting for their country.

ACKLINGTON

Remembrance Service, St John the Divine Church, 10.45am. Service at Guyzance Tragedy Memorial, 12.30pm.

ALNHAM

Remembrance Eucharist, Church of St Michael, 10.30am.

ALNMOUTH

Service of Remembrance, St John the Baptist Church, 9.30am, followed by service at war memorial, 11am.

ALNWICK

Remembrance Service, St Paul’s Church, 2.30pm, followed by parade to war memorial where wreaths will be laid from approximately 3.30pm.

ALWINTON

Remembrance Eucharist, St Michael and All Angels Church, 10.15am.

AMBLE

Wreath-laying ceremony in the Town Square just before 11am, followed by procession via Queen Street and Wellwood Street to St Mark’s URC for Service of Remembrance. There will also be a service in the Town Square on Wednesday at 11am.

BELFORD

Remembrance Service at war memorial on West Street, 10.45am.

BERWICK

Civic Service of Remembrance at Berwick Parish Church at 9.45am, followed by Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance at Castlegate war memorial at 10.55am. Two minutes’ silence at 11am, then wreath laying, before procession down Castlegate and Marygate to Town Hall where the mayor will take the salute.

CHEVINGTON

St John the Divine Church is holding a Communion at 9.15am and Remembrance Service at 10.15am, followed by parade to war memorial for 11am. On Wednesday, Memorial Service at Chevington Cemetery, 11am.

FELTON

Remembrance Service, Church of St Michael and All Angels, 10.15am, then laying of wreaths at war memorial at 10.45am.

LONGFRAMLINGTON

Service of Remembrance, Memorial Hall, 3pm.

MORPETH

Remembrance Service, County Hall, 11am, Wednesday, with a two minutes’ silence.

NEWTON ON THE MOOR

Remembrance Service, Jubilee Hall, noon.

ROTHBURY

Remembrance Eucharist, All Saints’ Church, 10.15am. Civic service, All Saints’ Church, 2.30pm, followed by parade and wreath laying at war memorial. Wednesday, Act of Remembrance at war memorial, 11am.

SEAHOUSES

Act of Remembrance at war memorial, 2.15pm, as well as 11am on Wednesday.

SHILBOTTLE

Service, St James Church, 10am, followed by parade to war memorial at 10.50am for short service/wreath laying at 11am. Also short service at war memorial at 12.15pm on Wednesday.

WARKWORTH

Remembrance Service, St Lawrence Church, 9am, followed by short ceremony and Last Post at war memorial with wreath laying at approximately 10.15am.

WOOLER

Remembrance Service, St Mary’s Church, 2.30pm, followed by wreath laying at the Tory, where there will also be a service at 11am on Wednesday.
