A bright and fresh April morning saw Alnwick’s Thursday market spring into action with the sound of pan pipes and the aroma of coffee.
Markets manager Steve Ellaby said: “The Market Place was nearly full with traders selling fresh produce, plants, gift items and clothing – all the stalls that residents have asked for at their local market.
We also gave a free stall to SHAK, to help them fund-raise as the chosen charity of the Jam Jar Army.”
Shoppers were entertained with music from a Peruvian pan pipe duo, and youngsters were encouraged to use their pedalling prowess on the smoothie bike.
The Thursday market will continue weekly until December.
