The devastated mother who lost her son in a car crash on the A697 has said her grieving family has taken great comfort from mourners’ support and best wishes.
Henry Robert Blakey was killed on November 19 when his car came off the road, near to Longframlington, and collided with a tree.
The 27-year-old from Whittingham, known as Robert, had been driving to work in Sunderland.
Since his death, heartwarming messages of condolence have poured in, while mourners turned out in force at his funeral and wake last month. Hundreds of pounds have been raised in his memory for charity Whizz-Kidz, as well as research into chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
His mum, Eileen, said: “The family wants to thank everyone for their condolences and best wishes.”
Robert also leaves behind dad David, siblings Mykel, Jacqui and Richard, and partner Rachel Ashley.
