CHILDREN attending fun exercise classes in Alnwick are preparing for their own special Games after being inspired by the 2012 London Olympics.

The owners of Tumble Tots, which runs classes in Alnwick and Morpeth as well as other towns are encouraging youngsters to take up exercise from an early age.

The campaign will run until July, and each child will receive certificates and stickers relating to each sporting category as a lasting memory of their own achievements during Olympic year.

Tumble Tots gives babies from six months to children up to the age of five the opportunity to be active while having fun through their physical play programme.

Using brightly-coloured apparatus, the classes introduce youngsters, to exercise in a fun environment, promotes a healthy lifestyle, helps combat childhood obesity and improves balance and co-ordination.

It is fitting that Tumble Tots is using the Olympic Games to inspire and motivate a new generation to take up physical exercise and sport because the organisation’s founder, Bill Cosgrave, was coach for the 1968 British Olympic Gymnastics team.
