The change of direction means people can smell the fire at Cragside.

Little licks of flames and burning embers can still be seen on the fire, despite rain over the last 24 hours.

Fire crews are letting the fire burn, which took place in warehouses containing bales of shredded carpet, could burn for another week.

The fire started at around 8.45am on Tuesday and it took 40 firefighters to get it under control.
