Teenagers arrested after shop disturbance

Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of affray after a disturbance at a Northumberland shop, which left two men injured and damage done to the property.

Police were called to Alnwick News, on the town’s Upper Barresdale, at 2.49pm yesterday, following reports of an incident at the store.

Officers attended and found a window at the shop had been damaged. Two men from the shop were taken to Alnwick Infirmary suffering minor injuries and released following treatment.

Officers made inquiries and three males, all aged 18 and from the Alnwick area, were arrested on suspicion of affray.

This is believed to be an isolated incident. Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact them.
