Extra patrols have been mounted in rural Northumberland to crack down on crime and anti-social behaviour over the holiday season.
It comes as part of the Summer Policing Plan and officers have been carrying out foot and vehicle patrols at key times, carrying out pub checks and giving crime-prevention advice, among other things.
It ties in with Northumbria Police’s ‘Put yourself in their shoes’ campaign tackling anti-social behaviour and urging people to think about how their actions can affect others.
Paul Truscott, Alnwick Neighbourhood Inspector, said: “Hundreds of people visit rural Northumberland each year to enjoy the attractions and the countryside.
“We want people to come here, have a great day out and feel safe and secure.
“Our Summer Policing Plan has proved successful in helping to drive down crime in the past which is why we have repeated it this year.”
