Northumberland College is introducing several new part-time courses and an online booking system for 2016.

The courses are aimed at those looking to develop professional skills or learn a new hobby, with many from £20.

The college also provides a range of higher-education courses on a part-time basis.

Berwick’s Sandra Bullen, pictured, is someone who benefited from this, after taking a teaching assistant’s course.

She gained a job at Longridge Towers school in Berwick during her studies and then decided to progress to a part-time Foundation Degree in Early Years Practice at the college’s Berwick centre.

The college will be holding showcase open events on Tuesday, January 19, from 4.30pm to 7pm, at its Ashington, Kirkley Hall, Berwick and Hexham campuses. Visitors will be able to explore some of the college’s new facilities and sample potential courses. Visit www.northumberland.ac.uk for details.
