Sentence for sex offences

AN Embleton woman who pleaded guilty to seven sexual offences involving a boy as young as six has been given a suspended prison sentence and put on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.

Charlotte Lilian Bray, 58, of Quaker’s Row, was sentenced to 51 weeks suspended for two years at Newcastle Crown Court on Tuesday in relation to six counts of gross indecency with a child under the age of 14 and one further sexual offence. All of the offences took place between October 1980 and May 1990.

She was also given a two-year supervision order and put on the register.
