ENGLAND’S largest colony of grey seals is among the secrets of the Northumberland coast revealed in a new four-part BBC2 documentary, Britain’s Secret Seas.
The third episode, tonight (Sunday, May 22) at 8pm, is called The Power of the East and follows a team of experts as they go on some diving expeditions to explore Britain’s eastern seas.
The team, including presenter and British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) diver Paul Rose, travels to the Farne Islands and comes face to face with the seals.
They find out what makes the seals such extraordinary divers and successful hunters, and how they are adapting to changing conditions off the east coast of Britain.
The BSAC said it hopes the new series will inspire more people in the county to try scuba diving.
