Seahouses and District Rotary Club

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: A LARGE group of Rotarians and friends gathered at the Olde Ship to greet and pay tribute to Jack Dineley on his 90th birthday.

Speeches were made by old friends and colleagues, with Bill Weeks, George Scott, Roy Dodds, Ron Goodman and Rosie Ellis recalling past times and activities.

A reminder of Jack’s qualities and many services to the community was followed by a presentation of a Paul Harris Fellowship Award – the highest honour available in Rotary.

The rest of the evening was spent in fellowship over an excellent buffet meal.

The next day, celebrations continued with a buffet lunch at the home of Rotarian Jill M Connell-Wood.

Plans are afoot for a fund-raising walk of St Cuthbert’s Walk by President Roger Howell and his wife Jenny. Visitors are always welcome at the Tuesday evening meetings.
