Scouting for new members

Have your say

A NEW Scout group has been set up in a north Northumberland seaside village.

And the Seahouses and North Sunderland Scout Group’s taster evening, which took place last month, was a great success.

Andrew Teasdale, development officer for Northumberland Scouts, said: “It went really well – we had 13 young people and a number of adults interested in getting involved. And we recruted a new leader.

“The old Seahouses group passed on some funds which is a nice start as well.”

Andrew is the development officer for Project Lindisfarne which aims to develop Scouting across the county between Felton and Berwick.

The new group will meet on Wednesday evenings at Seahouses Community Centre and there are opportunities for six to eight-year-olds (Beavers) and eight to 10-year-olds (Cubs).
