On behalf of the Rotary Club of Till and Glendale, Rotarian Alison Lloyd-Harris of Wooler, hosted Rotary Peace Scholar Sangluaia, from Burma, together with his wife Rebecca and one-year-old daughter Vohbik.

Alison provided a wonderful buffet for her friends, neighbours and local Rotarians when Sangluaia spoke about his previous work with street children in Mandalay through World Vision and with Muslims and Buddhists affected by conflicts in northern Burma through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Kelvin Rushworth, Rotary North East chair for Alumni and Scholars, spoke about the growth and development of the six Rotary Peace Centres in universities around the world, including Bradford in the UK.

Terry Long, from the Rotary Club of Alnwick and the Rotary North East Governor in 2015-2016, thanked Sangluaia and Kelvin for their presentations and Alison for her hospitality.
