GOODBYE TO GREEN AND BLUE UNIFORM
From September, it is a new chapter for Alnwick South First School.
No, it is not going to be knocked down but is soon to be known as Swansfield Park First School. Ellie in Year 2 said: “I like the name because I like swans.”
In Willow class, we like the name because it is named after the park which is next to our school and we think more people will know where we are. Other first schools in Alnwick have changed their name and we are excited about doing the same thing.
Corey in Year 2 said: “I really like the school name because it sounds interesting and friendly,” and Ruby also thought the name sounded fun and exciting. Maddison added: “It’s really interesting to be part of the school renaming itself.”
Everybody in school has enjoyed designing the new logo in a competition and the winner will have theirs printed on the new uniform, website and school letterhead.
Tanith hoped it will include lots of colours to show that all types of children come to our school with all abilities to learn together in a happy and friendly place.
We know that our new uniform will include a purple cardigan or jumper. Willow class thinks this will look smart and some of the girls have started to wear purple bows in their hair. “I really like the colour of our new uniform,” said Martha. However, Katie disagreed saying: “I don’t think it’s a good idea because green and blue are my favourite colours.”
Frankie too disagreed saying: ”I don’t like purple!” but Willow class think he will look smart! Lily and Poppy added: “It is a bright and unusual colour which no other school near us wears.”
On Thursday, we are launching our new uniform at a fashion show and the winner of the logo competition will be revealed! We are looking forward to seeing some of our friends wearing it for the first time.
We hope you like our new name, uniform and logo when you see it on us in September!
Watch this space for further exciting news about our re-branded school!
