Santas all set for a spring outing

SANTA will be paying a late visit to Alnwick this weekend, taking a stroll in aid of charity.

And there is still time to enter and take part.

Organised by the Northumberland Gazette the Santa Saunter 2010 (Revisited) takes place this Sunday, in aid of HospiceCare North Northumberland and Grace House North East Children’s Hospice Appeal.

Starting in Alnwick Market Place, the huddle of Santas will take a five-mile stroll around the town, in a quirky event, spreading Christmas cheer seven months early.

There will be fun for all the family, including dogs, and the walk will finish at the Gazette office on Bondgate Within where Santa’s helpers will have a treat to reward those who have taken part.

The walk costs £8 per adult and £5 per child, which includes a Santa suit, while canines are £2 each, with a prize for the best festively-dressed pooch.

You can pick up an entry and sponsorship form at the Gazette office or sign up on the day from 10am. For those already taking part, meet in the Market Place from 11am to collect your Santa suit.
