Molly and Dolly

Molly and Dolly

Have your say

Not a week goes by that new Jam Jar Army charity SHAK doesn’t hear of new cases of dog neglect.

And this week was no different with two new dogs – Molly and Dolly – coming into the kennels at a farmhouse to the north of Alnwick.

SHAK volunteer Yvonne Bell said: “Found as strays, the connection between these girls is so great that you cannot even walk them with the leads in different hands, they pull to be together.

“Dolly, the long-haired one, is the most neglected, but also the most confident of the two. Molly will do everything Dolly does.

“I think the pictures speak for themselves, but I am pleased to say that they are both learning to trust me, and seem to be enjoying life here.

“It just begs the question, how could anyone treat them like this?

“The girls will be nursed back to full health and fitness by the volunteers at SHAK.”

We want everyone to hold jam jar collections for SHAK. Full jars can be dropped off at the Gazette office or Taylor’s newsagents in Alnwick.
