Rowing race raises money for charities

A rowing race raised £1,000 for MIND and Spinal Research.

The contest was held at Alnwick Rugby Club, pitting a nine-strong team from George F White against Peter Robinson.

Peter is one member of The Four Oarsmen, who are set to row across the Atlantic in aid of the charities. George F White is sponsoring the Oarsmen and, in preparation, the fund-raiser was held at the rugby club.

Pete rowed 30,871 metres, while the George F White team rowed just over 29,000 metres in two hours.
