TOILET TAKEOVER IS STILL ON THE CARDS
The parish council is still looking at costings for taking over the Riverside toilets in the village.
The plans are to have the facilities open in time for next spring with the aim of opening for six months of the year.
Coun Mark Gilson is looking at costs for cleaning and maintenance after quotes from the county council proved too costly.
NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN IS UNDER WAY
A neighbourhood plan which includes the parishes of Rothbury, Cartington, Whitton and Tosson and Thropton is now under way with all signing up to take part.
The next stage will be a consultation with residents and in the New Year there will be an information-gathering process and survey to help draw up the final version.
DONATIONS MADE TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY
Donations have been made to two causes which benefitthe community.
The parish council agreed to give £1,000 to the Christmas Lights Committee to help with future displays and also donated £100 to Alnwick Playhouse.
PLANS BEING MADE TO IMPROVE PLAY AREA
Plans are being made to improve Rothbury’s Riverside Play Area. Coun Helen Walklett is looking after the project and has a number of experts coming to look at the site to see what equipment can be put in that will withstand any future flooding. She is also talking to Northumberland County Council about money that may be available.

The next meeting of Rothbury Parish Council will take place on Wednesday, December 10, at 7.30pm in the Jubilee Hall. The public are welcome but must submit questions in advance.
