THEY’VE rocked all over the world and now they will be giving the people of Alnwick whatever they want. Status Quo are coming to town.

With worldwide sales in excess of 118 million units and 22 top ten British hit singles the Quo celebrated their 45th anniversary in 2010, and will be bringing their outstanding live show to the Pastures at Alnwick Castle on Saturday, August 20.

Organised by IML concerts and supported by the Northumberland Gazette, the event is set to be one of the biggest highlights of this summer’s calendar and includes a grand firework finale.

Keith Louch, director of IML, said “We have presented concerts in Alnwick for the past five summers and are absolutely delighted to be bringing Status Quo to the Castle grounds.

“They are, without any doubt, a world-class act and I am sure the crowds who have so loyally supported our shows since 2006, will again be excited by the news of this gig.”

Status Quo singles’ hits include Caroline, Rocking All Over The World, Down Down, What You’re Proposing, Rain, Break The Rules, Paper Plane, Whatever You Want, Roll Over Lay Down and many many more.

In total they have recorded 64 British hit singles – more than any other band – 22 of which have hit the top ten. The first hit was Pictures of Matchstick Men which reached Number 7 in January 1968. In addition they have had 31 hit albums in the album charts, more than any band except The Rolling Stones.

So grab your friends, bring a picnic and get ready to party with the kings of rock and roll.
