Resurfacing work on a main route into Alnwick has been deferred until next month due to the ongoing gas works in the town.
Northumberland County Council had been due to carry out the repairs to Wagonway Road this month, but decided to postpone them as it would coincide with the ongoing works on South Road, essentially blocking the two main routes into the town from the south.
They are now scheduled to take place from Monday, November 17, until Friday, November 28, although this is dependent on the gas works being completed by then.
Meanwhile, Narrowgate has been closed to traffic since Monday for work to take place to fix the collapsed wall at Oscars Bar.
The road will be shut for up to two weeks (until October 27), but it is hoped it will be quicker.
