Riding out to Help the Heroes

A PEDAL-POWERED duo have cycled for cash to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

Miles Dewhurst and Gary Molloy, who are directors of Park Leisure, embarked on a gruelling 550-mile bike ride, from the company’s most northern holiday park, in Amble, to its most southern, Par Sands, on the south coast of Cornwall.

And the pair completed the trek, dubbed Tour de Park Leisure, in just five days, starting on June 29 at Amble Links holiday park and finishing on July 3.

On the final day of the ride they were joined by the company’s Area Park Manager, James Gourlay, for the arduous 93-mile leg which took them over Dartmoor to the finish line at St Austell.

As part of the ride, they also carried a baton to raise awareness for the charity The Baton.

Last October the pair raised £20,000 for Help for Heroes, cycling from Amble Links to Blackpool, completing the 250-mile challenge in three days.
