Fresh plans to extend a grade II-listed Wooler hotel have been lodged with the county council.
An application to provide additional accommodation at No 1 Hotel and Wine Lounge, formerly the Red Lion, has been submitted.
The plans include change of use of the cottage to create three additional rooms and turning first-floor storage rooms into an additional three bedrooms. It is also proposed to turn derelict land at the rear of the property into private parking for hotel patrons.
David Tennet Design, in a report, states: ‘It is anticipated that the proposals will fit neatly into the surrounding area and that the layout/design will ensure that the proposed development will not adversely affect the amenity.’
A previous application by owner John Magleave was refused by planning officers in April.
