New parking regulations for Green Batt, in Alnwick, have been approved to deal with ongoing issues for residents in the area.
At Tuesday night’s meeting of the planning and environment committee, members agreed to a new scheme featuring a variety of different restrictions to deal with the conflict.
The immediate area of concern is where residential properties are mixed in with a number of services including the library and the Jobcentre.
The new scheme will see a no-waiting restriction around the pinfold. In front of Green Batt House and the properties to the left of the library, there would be bays for two-hour restricted parking among further no-waiting areas.
In front of the library will be two disabled bays and a row of residents’ parking while the other side of the street would see residents’ parking and two-hour bays either side of the bus stop.
